VOLCStorage has Stopped Working

Abstract:

If you are using the Lens Product Loader in OfficeMate v10 or above on Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008, and you receive an error message that states, "VOLCStorage has stopped working," try running the Lens Product Loader on a workstation running Windows XP or follow the instructions below to manually update your lens data. Our Development team is aware of this error and is working to fix it in OfficeMate v10.6.

On each computer that you use to run the Lens Product Loader, perform the following steps (you do not need to perform these steps on every computer running OfficeMate/ExamWRITER):

  1. Navigate to your OfficeMate program directory (most likely C:\OfficeMate or C:\OMATE32).
  2. Right-click LensProductLoader.exe and select Create Shortcut.
  3. Right-click Shortcut to LensProductLoader.exe and select Rename.
  4. Rename the shortcut LensProductLoader - Local.
  5. Right-click LensProductLoader - Local and select Properties.
  6. Click the Shortcut tab.
  7. Type Local after the file name in the Target text box (for example, C:\OfficeMate\LensProductLoader.exe Local).
  8. Click www.officemate.net/dwnld/OM/LensUpdate.zip.
  9. Click Save.
  10. Navigate to your OfficeMate Updates folder and click Save.
  11. Navigate to your OfficeMate Updates folder.
  12. Double-click LensUpdate.zip.
  13. Unzip the files into the DATA\LensUpdate folder (most likely in C:\OfficeMate or C:\OMATE32).
  14. Navigate to your OfficeMate progr
